History Week

Trans and non-gender conforming people have always been here — longer than Big Ben, Hadrian’s Wall, even sliced bread. But their stories have often been erased, distorted, or ignored.

For the second annual Trans+ History Week, we created a nationwide awareness campaign that reclaimed space — and truth — for the Trans+ community. Through bold, location-specific creative, we spotlighted trans+ stories that have shaped history, appearing in OOH, social, and press across the UK. 

ALWAYS BEEN HERE. ALWAYS WILL BE.

As Creative Director (Copy), I helped shape the tone, messaging, and written language of the campaign — working closely with our wider team of queer creatives and allies to ensure the work spoke with pride, clarity, and care.

The campaign was created by Uncharted and Smarty Pants Consultancy in collaboration with Queer AF, and supported by Trans+ History Week CIC, The Diversity Standards Collective, and Havas Media UK. It featured over 20 creative executions across channels, each one aiming to honour the truth, resilience, and legacy of the Trans+ community.

With the backdrop of the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on the definition of the term “woman”, which has already seen trans women excluded from some single-sex spaces, THW is a blazing reminder that trans people have, and will always be, a monumental part of history.
